It was interesting to see how the youths warmed up to Mr Kosgey saying that he was best placed to breathe life to the devolved unit that continuous to reel from poor leadership under Governor Cleophas Lagat.

Governor Lagat has recently come under sharp criticism for failing to put down proper structures to curtail ghost workers in the regional government.

“It is only HKK who can steer this County to where it is supposed to be. We all know his track record during his tenure as the Tinderet MP and also as a cabinet minister,” said Joshua Kurgat, a resident of Tinderet.

Mr Kosgey reminded people of Tinderet of the need for the Kalenjin people to remain united under Jubilee party if they were to realize any tangible progress in 2017 and eventually 2022 when the current Deputy President William Ruto is expected to vie for the top seat.

HKK’s entry into the race has sent shock waves among the political class and the residents of Nandi County with political observers noting that he is the best placed candidate to unseat Dr Lagat.
